Tubular Screw Conveyor

The Tubular Screw Conveyor (commonly known as a screw auger) is a continuous conveying equipment that uses a rotating screw to push materials along a fixed casing. The casing is typically made of high-quality seamless steel pipes, with ends connected by flanges to form a highly rigid and fully sealed structure. It is widely used in industries such as building materials, chemicals, power, metallurgy, coal, and grain. It is suitable for horizontal, steeply inclined, or even vertical conveying of powders, granules, and small lumps (e.g., cement, coal powder, fertilizers, ash, flour). Due to the small effective flow area inside the tube, it is not suitable for conveying easily deteriorated, highly viscous, or easily caked materials.

Intermediate hanger bearings use self-lubricating, wear-resistant materials like chilled cast iron or powder metallurgy. This eliminates the need for frequent oiling, prevents grease from mixing with materials, and significantly extends the equipment's service life.

Building Materials and Cement Industry

This is one of the core application fields for tubular screw conveyors. They are mainly used to transport cement, raw meal, slag powder, fly ash, gypsum powder, limestone pellets, and similar materials. Typical scenarios include feeding from raw material storage to mills, conveying finished cement, and returning materials from air classifiers. Due to the high dust levels, well‑sealed tubular models are often chosen to prevent dust emissions.

Chemical and Fertilizer Industry

These conveyors are used to transport various chemical raw materials, additives, fertilizer granules or powders—for example, soda ash, ammonium sulfate, urea, compound fertilizers, plastic pellets (PVC/PE), etc. In chemical applications, equipment is often required to have corrosion resistance; therefore, stainless steel screw conveyors are commonly selected, or the material‑contacting parts are given special anti‑corrosion treatment.

Power and Energy Industry

In thermal power plants, tubular screw conveyors handle pulverized coal conveying, as well as the transport of gypsum from desulfurization processes and dry or wet ash from boiler bottoms. In biomass power plants, they are also used to convey wood chips, straw pellets, and other biomass fuels.

Metallurgy and Mining Industry

They are suitable for conveying ores, concentrate powders, coke dust, sinter return fines, dust collector ash, and the like. These materials are often highly abrasive and have high bulk density; therefore, this industry uses screw blades made of wear‑resistant materials (such as hardfacing or high‑manganese steel), and the drive units are typically designed with higher power ratings.

Grain Processing Industry

In the grain sector, these conveyors are used to transport wheat, corn, soybeans, rice, flour, feed, and similar products. The equipment is required to have a simple structure and be easy to clean, so as to prevent material residue and mildew growth.
